Books of the Bible Icons
For this project, I created an icon for every book of the Bible. This included 39 Old Testament icons and 27 New Testament Icons (for a total of 66 icons). The icons were made to appear at the heading of every book for Bibles.net’s online Bible reader. Each icon needed to be unique and cohesive with the website’s brand.
The sketches begin…
This project took a lot of visual exploration. It was a challenge to encapsulate the contents of each book into a single icon. I used many sketches to explore different ideas and solutions.
Once I had some sketches, I began to explore the format and style of the icons. After some experimentation, I landed on a mono-weight style with a bookmark frame.
